Our Story

Founded

BST (British School of Tirana) was established in 2016 as an Early Years setting and quickly expanded to offer Primary, Secondary, and A-Level education. We are proud to be the first and only fully accredited British-style educational institution in Albania, regularly inspected by official British education authorities.

A Truly International School

Today, BST is home to almost 500 students, ranging in age from 1 year old in Early Years to 18 years old in A-Level (High School). Our students are not only locals but they come from more than 15 different countries, creating a vibrant and multicultural community. This diversity, reflected in both our students and staff, enriches the BST experience with a broad spectrum of languages, traditions, and perspectives from around the world.

Curriculum

BST exclusively follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales, licensed by the Albanian Council of Ministers (Decree No. 484, dated 31.07.2018; Early Years licensed in 2016). Students are prepared for internationally recognised qualifications such as IGCSE, AS and A-Levels delivered in partnership with prestigious examination boards including Cambridge Assessment International Education and Pearson Edexcel.

Faculty

Our dedicated team includes almost 60 qualified teachers, supported by 30 administrative and support staff, all working together to deliver high-quality education and care across all year groups.

We maintain small class sizes to support personalized learning:

Maximum class size: 22 students

Counseling Services

BST provides comprehensive social and emotional support through our professional school counselors, who are available across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary to support student wellbeing and development.
