Our Senior/Secondary School is located in the residential area of Kodra e Diellit 2. The three-story building, which houses Secondary Years 7–13, features open, airy, and bright learning spaces. It is well-equipped with a gym, art atelier, and a science lab.

At BST, Senior/Secondary School (ages 11 to 18) represents an exciting seven-year journey of growth and discovery. Our students learn to become more independent, cultivate personal interests, and develop strong skills in analysis and evaluation.

This educational journey culminates in the opportunity to take the IGCSE exams, with the Albanian mini-matura available as an additional qualification followed by the AS & A-Level exams and the Matura Exams. Our happy, vibrant, and forward-looking community provides students with a rich array of opportunities beyond the classroom, including a broad and balanced curriculum enhanced by diverse co-curricular activities, clubs, and educational trips.

Key Stage 3 – Years 7 to 9

During Years 7 to 9 (ages 11–14), students follow the Key Stage 3 curriculum, experiencing a wide range of subjects and lessons. Our small class sizes—typically 20 pupils—allow teachers to engage every student personally, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and deepening understanding through discussion, research, and projects.

As a British international school, we welcome students at various points in their educational journey, and our skilled staff expertly support smooth transitions between curricula. Like most British schools, we follow the English National Curriculum. Key Stage 3 marks a significant phase where students study a common core curriculum, with new subjects introduced, including Drama, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics (as part of combined Science). This broad exposure helps inform future IGCSE subject choices.

Students benefit from regular and varied homework assignments paired with clear, personalised feedback. They are encouraged to become independent learners and confident risk-takers. Beyond academics, Key Stage 3 offers numerous co-curricular activities designed to enhance social and interpersonal skills.

Overall, Key Stage 3 students at BST enjoy a warm, inspiring, and challenging learning environment that fosters their development as healthy, enquiring, capable, and confident young adults.

Key Stage 4 – Years 10 and 11

Transitioning from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) involves important changes in both timetable structure and lesson focus. By the end of Key Stage 3, students will have studied up to fifteen subjects and now begin to specialise, selecting subjects that align with their strengths and interests.

At Key Stage 4, students prepare for externally assessed UK-based IGCSE examinations. The curriculum challenges them to engage with complex, relevant issues, encouraging the application of knowledge and creativity. We believe education must go beyond academics to embrace the social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and ethical growth of each student.

Key Stage 5 – Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13)

The final two years of secondary education, Years 12 and 13, are commonly known as Sixth Form or Key Stage 5. At this stage, students focus on advanced studies, typically pursuing A-Level qualifications or equivalent international programmes that prepare them for university and future careers.

Key Stage 5 is designed to deepen academic knowledge, foster independent research skills, and develop maturity and responsibility. Students receive tailored guidance and support to explore career paths, university options, and personal development opportunities. Enrichment activities, leadership roles, and community engagement are integral to this stage, helping students become well-rounded individuals ready for the challenges of higher education and beyond.
